One distinguishing factor between a Gen Zer and a Zillennial is that Zillennials were born before the 9-11 Attack in 2001 signaled the rise of terrorism. Who are Zillennials?

Put simply, Zillennials are a micro-generation that sits in between Millennials and Generation Z. While they identify with key parts of the Millennial and the Gen Z experience, they’re considered either ‘too young’ or ‘too old’ to have participated fully in either set of social and cultural norms.

Millennials were born between 1981 and 1996. The next generation Gen Z spans the period from 1997 to 2012. This places Zillennials as a blend of two generations with unique spending habits who grew up on earlier forms of the internet and social media. But the generational divide between these three groups is much smaller than with past generations such at the Baby Boomers, Gen X, and the Silent Generation.

The Zillennial Years
